Glendora embarks on a ruinous journey that strains her relationship with Paul to the breaking point, forces her to deal with her own problems and makes her choose a path which ultimately threatens her very freedom. She is about to lose her job and her home, plus she is the main suspect in several arson investigations. Glendora is convinced that her worthless ex-husband Dirk is in league with Angela and is determined to put a stop to whatever plan they have for Paul.īut Glendora has her own set of problems. Fearing death when her heartbeat count reaches zero, Angela convinces Paul that they should make each other beneficiaries on their life insurance policies. In walks sweet-as-sugar Angela, who captures his heart with a dubious story about having a heartbeat countdown on her arm that only she can see. The somewhat mentally-impaired hardware store owner is well off, well liked and seems to have everything but a woman with whom to share his life.
